The World Only God Knows (TWGOK) just finished its second season this past spring and many have been calling for a third season. Despite not being one of the more financially successful series, there is a growing fanbase from the manga. Currently the manga has been on a streak with hit arcs, many of which fans want to see animated.
Unfortunately, until the producers at Manglobe (producers of the TWGOK anime) decide to green-light a third season, fans will have to deal with the OVA. I was actually quite happy with the content for the OVA because the corresponding manga chapter did feel a bit 'filler' to me. Although the events of this episode does set up for later situations, it would have been a waste if it had taken up a full episode in the next season.
Overall a great episodes for those really into the TWGOK world. Elsie and her friends struggle with trying to make a band and decide to make a light music club at school. Huge bonus points for the K-ON! reference made by Elsie. It was quite refreshing to see a non-Keima centric episode and let some of the other characters take center stage. The only disappointing thing about the episode was Yui's appearance only at the credits.
For those looking wanting more TWGOK will be disappointed by only seeing an OVA. Here's to hoping that we will get to see more of 2-B Pencil and the rest of the crazy TWGOK cast.
P.S. Have some extra Elsie and her firetruck obsession.
