Working'!!

Another eagerly anticipated second season to what was a very well received show. Working'!! hoped to cash in and continue the success of the first season. Did it pay off or did it end up like a certain squid? Jump over the break to find out!
What is it: Continuing where the first season left off, Working'!! follows the activities of the employees at Wagnarai, a family restaurant. Of course this would be no anime if each character didn't have their own problems and quirks. Working'!! is adapted from the four-koma style comic by Karino Takatsu by A-1 Pictures. 13 episodes were produced for this second season in 2011.

Why is it special: Basically everyone working at Wagnaria is crazy in some fashion. You won't be finding any 'normal' person here but that's okay because normal is so out of style. What was a sweet show, but way too short, sees another season to continue the same antics as before.

Plus One:
More of the same: Without getting stale, Working'!! continues the same vibe as the previous season and is a welcome because it doesn't try changing what made it work in the first place.

Character growth: While the first season set out to establish characters, the second sees growth in many characters (except for Poplar-chan). Even characters such as Inami see growth that helps make her more tolerable to some (I actually liked her in the first season to be quite honest).

More characters: What kind of show would go into a second season without adding more characters? Obviously not this one. More characters are introduced and all the problems they carry with them creating an even bigger mess than before.

More plot: While it can be argued that there isn't exactly a plot, the second season makes it so at least there is more of a reason to watch, Inami's training, Yamada's brother, etc., there are things to keep coming back week after week. But if you are watching this show you really don't care about an overarching story but rather just interested in the characters.

Minus One:
Lack of Kotori: Kotori is Takenashi's crossdressing persona. While she did make more appearances in the first season it would have been nice to see more.

Honestly I don't really have any other complaints.

All for One:
Working'!! should be the example on how to do a second season for any anime. The humor was maintained throughout the entire show and stayed true to what it was. While it is a light hearted comedy there is enough for anyone to keep coming back because the characters really do define the restaurant at where they work.Working'!! is for those looking for a good light comedy with interesting characters.
